   Bought a 16-channel Samsung DVR with 10 cameras, then bought one of these to compare camera differences. Image quality in daylight is slightly better than the Samsung SDC-5340BC cameras that came with the system. Darkness is where the difference really shows itself… The Swann’s stay in “color” mode under much lower light conditions than the Samsungs. Also, even when in night mode, they will pick up colors if light is available. Images in the darkness are much clearer than the Samsungs. If you’re looking for a slight upgrade to stock 600L cameras, this does the job. Will update review after long term use if needed.

   Added these to our original set of four bought at Costco. Picture and clarity even better. Like that we can check on our home when away on smart devices.

   I ordered these cameras in the past and they are much better than the stock cameras that came with the DVR. I just ordered again to max out our system with these higher quality cameras. The difference is clearly noticeably in image quality. They also have a wider viewing angle so you see more (57 degrees). The night vision is also upgraded and makes the night time video much brighter at further distances. They also handle bright light like the sun much better so you don’t get such a white out video (blind spots) during certain times of the day. The On Screen Show I haven’t messed with too much because you are unable to control these settings remotely which really sucks. You’d have to be up on a ladder and remove the camera screws to expose the wire and adjust settings all while holding the camera in one hand, adjusting with the other, and somehow manage to also be looking at your phone remote viewing to see the menu! You’d need 3 hands basically so it’s too hard to do and doesn’t even make sense to have to do that to adjust those settings (That’s why I gave 4 stars instead of 5)! Just know that these cameras use the BNC cables (included) and are not going to be the best quality image because they are not using the newer NVR (network video recorder) which uses Ethernet cables instead of BNC. For what they are they are very excellent though and worth it! The night vision doesn’t leave halos or smoke in the images at night like cheaper cameras I’ve bought have. I also like that these are white because they seem to blend in better to stay hidden and also are less prone to discoloring like the black ones that came with the system.
