Cameras are very clear. DVR doesn’t come with a remote nor can it be upgrade with an IR to make it compatible to use a remote per Swann Tech Support. My neighbor has an inexpensive Swann at 299.99 and that has a remote?! He has more options for viewing cameras than this more expensive unit. Greatly dissappointed in design and lack of proper product description, ie NO DVR REMOTE! Update: 12/9/15 Swann Tech Support is pretty useless when it comes to their DVR and how it works. Per them since they do not sell cameras with audio functions they cannot give any tech support on the audio function! So here is what I was able to figure out on my own. First, a wireless mouse works on the night stand for bedtime viewing otherwise you would have to get out of bed and physically stand next to the DVR to work it. Second, if you have a camera with audio you must go to menu, record, parameters and change the stream type to video and audio selection and the record audio box will change from grey to white allowing you to enable the record audio function to work and hit apply. The rest is a piece of cake. I have two cameras that take 30 plus seconds and mess up the screen changing from day to night and back. I personally would never buy a system from this company again. I had so much better options/functions and customer service help from my last Security Camera company.
